Tell us about your business and your current job.

ARIA Event Center, located in the Minneapolis North Loop, is a nationally awarded venue that features stunning architectural elements, exposed brick, crystal chandeliers and pop art accents that provide an extraordinary backdrop for an unforgettable event. My role at ARIA is comprised of both inside and outside sales efforts.  I provide clients with information on ARIA, offer tours and issue contracts.  I also strive to expand ARIA’s brand awareness by networking and conducting outside sales calls.

What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?

I would like to continue to further my skills in sales and customer relations as well as expand my network and create more awareness of ARIA in the corporate sector.

If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be?

I would want our potential customers to know that our space is truly unique and has that “wow” factor appeal for their attendees. Being a former theater, we have a very open and flexible floor plan, amazing acoustics, 30’ ceilings and plenty of rigging points so options for décor, lighting and entertainment are endless.

What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network?

Even though I’m new to MPI as well, I think being present at meetings and events on a consistent basis to help foster new relationships and getting involved would be advantageous.

What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?

The best advice I’ve received is “be yourself”.  There are certain skills and tactics you can learn to improve your “sales pitch” and knowing your product and your competition is important, but connections, for me, are equally important.  I like to get to know my clients and learn about them personally, their company, the cause, etc.  I’ve learned that when I am myself (which usually means being a little humorous) and I am straightforward with my clients, I am more confident and that usually translates to better sales.

What are some of your favorite pastime activities?

I love playing volleyball year-round!  In the summer I try to be outside, boating as much as possible!  (I mean we live in Minnesota after all, so carpe diem!)  I like to workout and run and will sometimes sign up for races throughout the year, but most of the time it’s just a nice way for me to quiet my mind and enjoy some music.  In the winter, I’m typically tuning into the latest Netflix series while sipping some hot chocolate and cuddling with my pup.
