A Hurricane Story: How CAMX Didn’t Let Irma Stop Them
Some of us have only had to think about it. Heather and her team actually experienced it. When Hurricane Irma hit in September 2017, the CAMX show team had to make quick decisions to postpone their Orlando show which was expecting 8,000 attendees and 550 exhibiting companies. In this session, Heather will share:
the timeline of their decision making process
how they notified attendees and exhibitors
how they rescheduled with the convention center and the multiple hotels where they had room blocks
what happened to all the freight that was already sent to Orlando
how cancellation insurance may or may not have been a factor
the impact on the show. Did all attendees and exhibitors return when it was rescheduled for December?
what they learned from this experience and what they wish they had known
